Purtex® - the eco-friendly polyurethane finishing for functional textiles
Purtex® is a novel textile finishing with high demands on environmental and occupational health and safety. This New Business Development project, initiated out of the Idea Pool from contributions of two Freudenberg employees, opens Freudenberg a new opportunity - the field of textile chemistry.
Purtex® makes textiles soft to the touch, highly durable and wear resistant, water repellent, but breathable at the same time. Purtex® can be applied wherever textiles need special properties like comfort and functionality or additional wear-enhancing features:
- Outdoor and sportswear
- Professional and protective clothing
- Vehicle interiors
- Home textiles and upholstery fabrics.
